Restrictions in Central Florida due to Hurricane Milton
Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall on the west coast of central Florida on Wednesday, October 9. In light of this, United Cargo is placing restrictions at the freight facilities at Tampa International Airport (TPA) and Orlando International Airport (MCO).Read more - 10/3/2024
New data requirements for shipments into the U.S.
As previously communicated, the U.S. Customs Border Protection (CBP) recently updated its required Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS) Data Elements for air freight shipments traveling to or through the United States. While a firm effective date is pending, the new data elements, as required by the CBP, will also be required by United Cargo for shipping to the U.S. in the imminent future.Read more - 9/19/2024

Due to extensive damage and flooding in the NE Florida region caused by Tropical Storm Debby, the United Cargo freight facility at Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) is closed until further notice. U.S. Customs and Border Protection updates
Effective immediately, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) clarified its messaging requirements for shipments with vague cargo descriptions. The CBP is aiming to address descriptions of cargo that are too vague or unclear (i.e., gift, daily necessities, accessories, parts, and consolidated, among many others). Consolidated is only acceptable at the master bill level.Read more - 2/14/2024
New data requirements for UAE shipments
Effective February 29, 2024, United Cargo will be enforcing new customs requirements to comply with the UAE National Advance Information Center (NAIC). On or after this date, air freight shipments traveling to, from or through the UAE, will now require the 6-digit Harmonized Commodity Codes (HS Codes). In order to process shipments, the air waybill (AWB), consolidation manifest, or FWB/FHL messages for all MAWBs and HAWBs will need to include 6-digit HS codes.Read more - 1/8/2024
Mandatory inspections of select 737 MAX 9 aircraft
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mandated inspections of 737 MAX 9 aircraft operated by U.S. airlines. This decision follows a recent pressurization incident with an Alaska Airlines 737 MAX 9 aircraft. As a result, United has temporarily suspended service on MAX 9 aircraft to conduct thorough inspections. We are actively inspecting the aircraft which may result in some cancellations or delays.Read more
