Data requirements for U.S.–bound cargo
U.S. Customs Border Protection (CBP) has issued new and enhanced Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS) Data Elements impacting air freight shipments traveling to or through the United States. Providing the required data elements will be a prerequisite for shipping in the imminent future. United Cargo has a target implementation date of October 3, 2024.
The attached Enhanced Air Cargo Advance Screening FAQ, and ACAS Implementation Guide, as provided by the U.S. Government, is being shared with you so you can initiate any development work necessary to support the required data set(s). Customers should do all possible to provide the required data by the October 3, 2024, implementation date.
The air waybill (AWB), consolidation manifest, or FWB/FHL messages for all MAWBs and HAWBs should include the following information:
- Shipper telephone number
- Shipper e-mail
- Consignee telephone number
- Shipper account name
- Shipper account issuer
- Shipper account number
- Shipper account type
- Verified known consignor
- Shipper account establishment date
- Shipper account billing type
For self-filers: if you have elected or are planning to self-file directly to customs authorities, you must submit this additional data to ACAS with your direct shipment messages.
If you have any questions about the new requirements, please feel free to reach out to the United Cargo Compliance Team at CargoCompliance@united.com.
