New COVID-19 Update from President Jan Krems    09/01/20

Each month I get excited for the opportunity to connect with you and share new developments. Back in March near the beginning stages of the coronavirus pandemic, we knew we had to get creative and provide solutions to you after a dramatic reduction in our passenger network. Critical needs quickly outgrew our available capacity, so we immediately began work to develop our cargo-only flights program. Today, I am proud to share that we recently operated our 5,000th cargo-only flight.

Over the past five months, we've shipped over 170 million pounds of critical goods to over 25 destinations on these cargo-only flights, supporting our customers and helping communities get through this challenging time.

In the coming weeks, you will begin to see not just our cargo-only flights, but a resumption of more United passenger service. The United Cargo team works closely with our Network Planning group to ensure that key routes are covered. Our service to major international locations will remain, and in September we will gradually begin to add additional destinations as demand supports the flying including brand new service between Chicago and Tel Aviv and resumption of service between San Francisco and Munich. Updates will continue to be posted on our COVID-19 updates page, which serves as your resource for network schedules and announcements.

Finally, thank you for your business over the past five months. It is because of your loyalty and support that we were able to operate over 5,000 cargo-only flights. We use feedback from customers like you to help determine which routes to resume and where demand and interest are the greatest. Please continue to work with your United Cargo representative or contact our team so we can ensure your needs are addressed. I look forward to continuing to support you.

As always, I'm wishing you, your families, and your teams the best of health.
