Extended Face Mask Requirements in Cargo Facilities    07/29/20

United Airlines announced that all customers and employees will be required to wear a face covering in the more than 360 airports where the airline operates around the world. Effective immediately, United Cargo is extending this policy to all of our freight facilities.

In addition to airport terminal locations commonly accessed for United Cargo products including United customer service counters and baggage service offices, face coverings will be required in all United Cargo facilities, including warehouses, entry areas, common spaces, and sales offices. This policy applies to all customers, employees, service partners, vendors, or any other visitors at these facilities.

If a person arrives without a mask or face covering, one may be offered to them. Anyone without a face covering will not be permitted within the facility and may be refused service or banned from using United Cargo products at least while the mask requirement is in place.

United has also strengthened its mask exemption policy. If a customer believes that there are extraordinary circumstances that warrant an exception, they should contact a local United Cargo Sales representative or specific station facilities using the phone numbers found on the Station Information section of unitedcargo.com.

United's face covering policy was created under the guidance of United's on-staff corporate medical team, public health officials, and experts at Cleveland Clinic.

"The most important thing any of us can do to slow the spread of the coronavirus is to simply wear a mask when we're around other people," said United's Chief Executive Officer, Scott Kirby. "A mask is about protecting the safety of others, and I'm proud of the aggressive and proactive steps United Airlines has taken to ensure people are wearing a face covering in the airports and cargo facilities where we operate."

This policy is part of an effort to put health and safety at the forefront of the entire United Airlines customer experience. We appreciate your cooperation in following this policy and helping to protect as many people as possible during the COVID-19 pandemic.
