Recognized for Delivering Help When It Matters Most

In April 2026, in Palm Springs, United was honored with the Silver Award for Best Emergency/Disaster Response Initiative at the Halo Awards Gala – a recognition that underscores the power of partnership and purpose in action.

This achievement reflects the collective efforts of United employees and our nonprofit partners who come together to support communities in times of crisis.

“We continue to focus on being a leader in the disaster-relief space — bringing together the strength of our nonprofit and corporate partners and, most importantly, the many employees who step up in moments that matter,” said Pulin Thakkar.

A key part of that impact is our long-standing collaboration with Airlink, a global humanitarian organization that connects airlines with NGOs to deliver critical aid.

“No single organization can respond to the immense needs of communities during or after a crisis alone,” said Paloma Adams-Allen. “United recognizes that doing good is good for business, and our work together helps communities around the world.”

Since launching this partnership in 2010, United and Airlink have supported an estimated 23 million people globally — transporting nearly 5,000 responders and more than 2.1 million pounds of essential supplies, including medical equipment, food, and water filtration systems.

Together, we’ve helped communities respond and recover from disasters worldwide, including recent efforts following Typhoon Sinlaku and flooding in Hawaii — ensuring aid reaches those who need it, quickly and reliably.

The Halo Awards are among the most respected recognitions in corporate social impact. This year’s win follows United being named a finalist in two categories — marking the first time the company has received multiple nominations.

Because when communities need support, every connection matters.
