Our Cargo team works 24/7 to fly hundreds of thousands of pounds of shipments around the world every day. That includes anything from electronics and pharmaceuticals to fresh flowers and perishable goods — every year haute couture straight from the runways of New York, Paris and Milan.

This wasn’t just any shipment—it came from Paris.
From the dazzling runways of Fashion Week, the shipment made its way to Charles de Gaulle, where United Cargo took over with choreographed precision. No detours, no delays. Safely secured aboard a New York–bound flight, it crossed the Atlantic without a hitch.
At nightfall, it touched down right on schedule, arriving at its final destination: the private collection of Celine Dion.
Although this shipment was bound for a star’s doorstep, every Fashion Week delivery receives the same meticulous care.
Fashion Week’s Silent Partner: United Cargo
Once a year, New York, Paris, and Milan transform into the epicenters of fashion, buzzing with the magic of Fashion Week. Designers unveil their visions, stylists pull together runway looks, and behind the scenes, United Cargo quietly makes it all possible.
When legendary designers send their latest creations across the Atlantic, there’s no debate about how they’ll get there. For decades some of the world’s most iconic fashion houses — Louis Vuitton, Dior, Hermès, Chanel, Longchamp, Prada, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, and Luxottica — have trusted United Cargo to ship their looks.
Not for the glamour—fashion has enough of that—but for something far rarer: absolute reliability, flexibility, attentive follow-up, and unmatched care for even the most delicate fashion shipments.
Flying One Way or Another
That trust runs so deep that when urgency strikes, fashion houses don’t ask if their collections will fly United. They make sure of it.
Most shipments follow United Cargo’s carefully orchestrated cargo process. But on rare occasions, urgency takes extraordinary forms.
Once, couture skipped the cargo hold entirely, packed into 15 oversized suitcases and escorted onto an express flight by the fashion house team. In another unforgettable instance, a client even booked an entire plane—50 tickets—for a Paris-to-New York transfer! Not because they had to. Because they wouldn’t ship with anyone else.
White Glove, Every Time
Extraordinary measures like these reflect one thing: fashion houses trust United Cargo not just for the lengths they’ll go, but for the service they can always count on. The industry calls it white-glove care. United Cargo calls it business as usual.
Handling Fashion Week shipments is as meticulous as the stitching on a couture gown, it includes:
- Integrity checks at both acceptance and departure
- Secure storage in CCTV-monitored areas to deter pilferage
- Dedicated fast-recovery zones (like special areas reserved for Dior)
- Pre-alerts sent to operations teams for heightened attention at every touchpoint
- Direct customer communication at both origin and destination to ensure transparency
- Flexible routing across United’s European network to accommodate last-minute or urgent shipments
"We always find space for them. That flexibility is what makes the difference," says Stephan Broquette, Regional Cargo Manager EMEIA
Delicate cargo, handled with care
And what exactly is being handled with such precision? Not just boxes of fabric, but irreplaceable couture pieces, delicate accessories, and elaborate stage props representing months of craftsmanship. Every shipment arrives with strict requirements: no loose cargo, no breakdowns, no unnecessary handling —and in some cases, constant camera supervision.
"All operations teams in Europe and the U.S. are used to handling these fashion shipments for years,” says Stephan Broquette. “And that’s what makes the difference with our competitors every day."
And time is just as precious. Most shipments move in less than 24 hours, supported by dedicated facilities in Newark that keep couture moving swiftly and securely. With nearly 100% on-time performance, punctuality has become United Cargo’s signature — earning the trust of fashion’s most iconic houses, like Dior.
“Our partnership with United Cargo reflects a shared commitment to excellence and a long-term vision. Together, we ensure our new collections reach boutiques with time to market precision,” said Karim Bairi, Dior’s International Logistics Director.
Stories That Don’t Make Headlines—And That’s the Point
Fashion Week thrives on drama, but United Cargo ensures there’s none in the supply chain. Since the very first couture shipment, United Cargo has been the silent force behind the scenes. For designers and brands who live for the spotlight, United is happy to stay backstage—delivering their art to the runway or a celebrity’s doorstep, right on time.
Because in fashion, the show must go on. And with United Cargo, it always does.
