United Airlines has been honored as the inaugural recipient of the Humanitarian Force for Good Award at the 50th Annual Air Transport World (ATW) Airline Industry Awards. This prestigious recognition highlights United’s unwavering commitment to supporting global communities in times of crisis, a testament to the airline’s dedication to excellence across its operations.

In 2024 alone, United demonstrated its profound impact by transporting approximately 157 tons of relief supplies and over 1,000 responders from more than 60 nonprofit organizations to assist with 40 disasters and humanitarian crises. These efforts touched the lives of over one million individuals affected by events across the globe, including those in Gaza, Ukraine, Haiti, Sudan, and Brazil, as well as regions hit by hurricanes Beryl, Milton, and Helene.

United’s humanitarian initiatives are made possible through its expansive aircraft and cargo network, which enable the swift delivery of essential supplies and volunteers to disaster-stricken areas. In 2024, in partnership with organizations such as Airlink, World Central Kitchen, and the American Red Cross, United transported over 800,000 pounds of relief cargo and flew more than 3,000 responders to support recovery efforts in over 30 countries.

Key missions included aiding victims of earthquakes in Turkey, Syria, and Morocco; responding to Typhoon Mawar in Guam; supporting wildfire recovery efforts in Maui; and continuing assistance for Ukraine. United’s efforts reflect a deeply rooted commitment to addressing both natural and manmade disasters, providing critical resources and assistance where they are needed most.
