GEN | SPD | EXP| Rates for Commodities

R90 Exception Rating R91 Human Remains
R90 Exception Rating
  1. The following articles and commodities will be accepted for reserved transportation (Toll free Tel. 1-800-UA-CARGO or 1-800-822-2746) and at the applicable premium rate specified in paragraph (C) below.
  2. Subject to advance arrangements (confirmed flight and space reservations), shipments containing commodities described in paragraph (C) below will have boarding priority as follows:
    1. Passengers and baggage
    2. Human Remains
    3. SPD - Small Package Service
    4. Mail
    5. EXP Freight (which includes Live Animals, AEVs, Perishables as defined in Rule G17 and commodities listed in Rule R90(C) which require percentage premium rates.)
    6. GEN Freight
      NOTE: For transportation via two or more carriers reserved transportation will apply only to United's segment(s) of transportation.
  3. TRANSPORTATION CHARGES: Will be determined by applying the percentage indicated below to United's applicable BULK GENERAL COMMODITY (GEN) rate except where noted.

    ARTICLE PERCENTAGE 
    Animals, live: warm-blooded (applicable to points within the U.S.)  EXP tariff 
    Animals, live: warm-blooded (applicable to transborder Canadian shipments only)  Call 1-800-UA-CARGO for details 
    Articles of Extraordinary Value as defined in Rule G20 herein  EXP tariff 
    Helicopter Propeller Blades
     (applicable only for transportation from or within the state of Hawaii) 
    125% of GEN 
    Uncrated

      Boats or parts thereof*  125% of GEN

* Not applicable to shipments subject to Rule R8-Special Tie Down Requirements.

  1. MINIMUM CHARGE PER SHIPMENT
    1. Via United:The percentage named for the article in paragraph (C) above applied to the General Commodity Minimum Charge named in United's section of this tariff.
    2. Jointly via United and one or more other carrier(s): Apply the combination of each participating carrier(s) local minimum charge to commodities name in paragraph (C)
  2. EXP rates and service are not applicable to commodities named in paragraph (C).
R91 Human Remains
  1. The following commodities will be accepted for reserved transportation (Toll free Tel. 1-800-468-1800 Special Services) at the applicable zone rate specified in paragraphs E or F below:

    Human Remains, uncremated SCR 0091

  2. SCR 0091 (EXP) rates apply airport-to-airport only and remove application of all other rates.
    Subject to advance arrangements (confirmed flight and space reservations), shipments containing commodities described in paragraph (A) above will have boarding priority as follows:
    1. Passengers and baggage
    2. Human Remains, uncremated SCR0091
    3. SPD - Small Package Dispatch
    4. Mail
    5. EXP Freight (Which includes Live Animals, AEVs, Perishables as defined in Rule G17 and commodities listed in Rule R90(C) which require percentage premium rates.)
    6. GEN Freight
  3. Transportation charges: Will be determined by applying the zone rate for each Human Remains.
    1. If Human Remains exceeds 500# price at 125% of zone rate; if exceeds 700# price at 200% of zone rate.
    2. If Human Remains is an infant (child less than 2 years old) the charge will be 25% of the zone rate subject to a minimum charge of $65 per remains.
