United Cargo SPD Same Day Service for Priority Shipments
United Cargo SPD offers the fastest same day small package airport to airport service to over 180 U.S. airports served by United Airlines, Ted, and United Express carriers. With SPD, your shipment travels in the passenger baggage mode, giving it the highest priority and the shortest handling time available.
Shipping United Cargo SPD - Your benefits:
Now you can ship small packages up to 100 pounds
- SPD has been expanded to include shipments up to 100 lbs. with a maximum size of 90 linear inches or 228 cm (L+W+H) per package.
- Available on United Airlines and Ted flights in the domestic U.S. The new 71-100 lbs weight break is not available on United Express flights.
Late drop offs and early recovery
- Drop your shipments 45 minutes prior to scheduled departure at SPD Center or passenger terminal locations, or, 60 minutes prior to scheduled departure at freight facilities. Extra handling time is required for hazardous materials. For details on location and hours of operations time check with station information as some exceptions apply.
- Recover your SPD shipments 30 to 60 minutes after the flight arrival.

- Drop your shipments within the acceptance standards and we guarantee to move your SPD on the flight as planned or your money back.
We are ready for you on any flight.
- SPD shipments are accepted on United Airlines, Ted and United Express flight.
- Due to the size of the aircraft we must limit shipments involving United Express flights to a maximum of 5 pieces and/or 150 pounds. To determine if the flight selected is a United Express flight, check the United Express partner flight ranges.
- You never have to make a reservation for SPD, unless you have more than 25 pieces or 500 lbs for a single shipment.
We suggest SPD for your special commodities
- Perishables such as flowers and seafood are perfect commodities for SPD especially with the new 71-100lbs weight break.
- Dangerous goods such as dry ice and other hazardous commodities and semen shipments are accepted however, special rules and regulations will apply.
All SPD shipments tendered to United Airlines must meet TSA security requirements or be x-rayed by a qualified screener. Please review our rules and regulations and information on special commodities or contact United Cargo for more information.
